One objection to the proposed solution to the unsolved 18 from the first Zodiac Code offered by Kite and myself is that the order is re-arranged.

I present a proposed solution here to the unsolved 18 in the order as presented by Zodiac and solved by the Hardens.

This is the unsolved 18 virgin and unmarked:

N...K...N...X...A...R...N...C...N...V...N...C...Q...Q...Y...R...C...R
K...H...K...U...X...O...K...Z...K...S...K....Z...N...N...V...O...Z...O
H...E...H...R...U...L...H..W..H...P...H...W...K...K...S...L...W...L

E...B...E...O...R...I....E...T...E...M...E...T...H...H...P...I....T...I

B...Y...B...L...O...F....B...Q..B....J...B...Q...E...E...M...F...Q...F
Y...V...Y...I....L...C....Y...N..Y....G...Y...N...B...B...J...C...N...C
V...S...V...F...I....Z....V...K..V.....D..V....K...Y...Y...G...Z...K...Z

And this is marked with the proposed solution, which differs slightly from the original Kite solution:

N...K...N...X...A...R...N...C...N...V...N...C...Q...Q...Y...R...C...R
K...H...K...U...X...O...K...Z...K...S...K....Z...N...N...V...O...Z...O
H...E...H...R...U...L...H..W..H...P...H...W...K...K...S...L...W...L

E...B...E...O...R...I....E...T...E...M...E...T...H...H...P...I....T...I

B...Y...B...L...O...F....B...Q..B....J...B...Q...E...E...M...F...Q...F
Y...V...Y...I....L...C....Y...N..Y....G...Y...N...B...B...J...C...N...C
V...S...V...F...I....Z....V...K..V.....D..V....K...Y...Y...G...Z...K...Z

6...9...6...6...9...6...3...0...9...9...6...9...3...3...6...6...6...9

K...S...K...I...A...O...H...T...N...D...Y...C...E...E...J...O...Z...R

***** UPDATE ***** NEW INFO AS OF MAY 2011***** UPDATE *****

* You can see the full results of the new Aquiman probabilty study and analysis here:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=131

The study was done by someone who has a Masters in Applied Physics, works at a top ten research university, and does failure analsyis using computers and probabilty/statistical models as part of his regular work. He started off as a critic of my code work.

The results are quite amazing. They totally refute the critics who said the 18 letter name Theodore J Kaczynski could be found in "virtually any" letters string. They are a major first step towards computer confirmation that the Caesar Code method with 0-3-6-9 shifts WAS the way Zodiac hid his name in the codes.

This is the original proposed solution by Kite, but in the order done by Zodiac and solved by the Hardens (I think - Kite, do you agree?).

The solution gives you the letters for the TJK name, and the 6th, 12th and 18th all match exactly to the letters in the same place in the TJK name. In other words, as the Kite solution is applied to the unsolved 18 in the order presented by Zodiac and as solved by the Hardens, every sixth letter matches exactly the letter in the same space in the name "THEODORE J KACZYNSKI".

There may be some other interesting matches and math here, as I am still working on this.

And this is the Kite solution above, re-arranged and put into order to spell the TJK name:

The Harden translation of the last 18 letters;

E..B..E..O..R..I..E..T..E..M..E..T..H..H..P..I..T..I is put in order:

T..E..H..I..M..I..O..H..P..E..R..T..T..E..E..B..E..I

and once again we see that the 6th, 12th and 18th charcacters are identical, and when the number sequence of:

0 3 3 6 9 6 3 3 6 6 9 9 6 6 9 9 6 0

is applied, these blue letters appear and spell the name:

C...N...Q...R...V...R...X...Q...Y...N...A...C...C...N...N...K...N...R
Z...K...N...O...S...O...U...N...V...K...X....Z...Z...K...K...H...K...O
W..H...K.. L...P....L...R...K...S....H...U...W..W..H...H...E...H...L
T...E...H...I...M...I....O...H....P....E...R...T...T...E...E...B....E...I
Q...B...E...F...J...F....L...E....M....B...O...Q...Q..B...B...Y....B...F
N...Y...B...C...G..C....I....B...J....Y....L...N...N...Y...Y...V....Y...C

The above solution code to produce the name

THEODORE J KACZYNSKI is:

0 3 - 3 6 9 6 - 3 3 6 6 9 9 6 6 - 9 9 - 6 0

Compare the number sequence above with the numbers Zodiac wrote on the car door at Lake Berryessa on 9/27/69:

Sept 27 - 69 - 6:30

September is the 9th month, and 2 + 7 = 9

So we might have, reducing the message to NUMBERS and expressing it in terms of MATHEMATICS:

9 9 - 6 9 6 3 - 0

Reverse it and we have:

0 - 3 6 9 6 - 9 9
And in the code solution to get the TJK name we see this exact same sequence of 3-6-9-6, and then doubled as 33-66-99-66. The entire code sequence is:

0 3 3 6 9 6 - 3 3 6 6 9 9 6 6 - 9 9 - 6 0

That is extremely interesting--to find a match like that amongst the haze of anagram re-arrangement. That strikes me as something to be noticed as part of something broader but who can say for sure just yet? If you look at the unknown 18--EBEORIETEMETHHPITI, you will notice that the 5 E's fall on all odds (1,3,7,9,11) and the 3 I's on evens (6,16,18). The 6,12,18 places are the letters I,T,I--the same as the ending (16,17,18) I,T,I. Probably nothing, but just an example an initial pattern search.

This is:

1. The unsolved 18 in the order presented by Zodiac and solved by the Hardens
2. The unsolved 18 re-arranged in the order to solve and then show the TJK name
3. The TJK name
4. The translated letters in the order presented by Zodiac and solved by the Hardens to solve for the TJK name

Note that the 6th, 12th and 18th letters always show matches.

E...B...E...O....R...I...E...T...E...M...E...T...H...H...P...I...T...I

T...E...H...I....M...I...O...H...P...E...R...T...T...E...E...B...E...I

T...H...E...O...D...O...R...E...J...K....A...C...Z...Y..N...S...K...I

The only thing here is that I believe, though I'm not positive, it's a repeat of the same thing. In other words, HSKRAOYTNDKCEEJOZI matches up with THEODOREJKACZYNSKI only on the 6,12,18 because TEHIMIOHPERTTEEBEI matches up with EBEORIETEMETHHPITI only on the 6,12,18. And if I am correct on that, certainly do not despair. The fact that there is a the one match on the 6 12 and 18 and nowhere else is absolutely compelling in and of itself---for one only. As we know, 3,6,9 is half of 6,12,18. Take notice of the 3 letters that match on 6 12 18 on the TJK name, the letters O C I. Half of the word ZODIAC. Using the 6,12,18 as X Y Z and the 5 between separated as A B C. (THEOD)(O)(REJKA)(C)(ZYNSK)(I)=(AAAAA)(X)(BBBBB)(Y)(CCCCC)(Z). Now map the letters with(HSKRA)(O)(YTNDK)(C)(EEJOZ)(I). The result (ACBBB)(X)(CACAC)(Y)(ABBAC)(Z). Notice the center B's have been pushed to the right and left(to A and C).

1. While you can get hundreds of names out of a 0-3-6-9 Caesar Code matrix based on the unsolved 18, you can NOT get thousands of names. In terms of actual real 18 letter names in the 1969 SF and Berkeley phone books, I guess maybe somewhere between a dozen and a hundred or so. And TJK is one of them. I find that very significant. Try to get Art Leigh Allen, Jack Tarrance or Richard Gaikowski. You can't. Pick a dozen random names of football players, movie stars or friends. You wont' be able to get most of them.

2. I also say that the code number sequence that produces the TJK name is very significant and unique. It is significant because most of it is the same or the same doubled as a number sequence that Zodiac wrote on the car door at Lake Berryessa on 9/27/69.

There are a huge number of four digit combinations that can be made from 0,3,6 and 9. (Can anyone figure out how many?) Can we really say it is likely just a coincidence that the same sequence on the car door - 3696 - when used and then doubled produces the Kaczynski name?
